I know that we emailed several of you to let you know about the Adobe article that I got published. If you haven’t seen it – it is here. This has become a huge blessing. I have received quite a bit of recognition from the article as well as some of the work on my professional blog. One of the amazing things is the world-wide audience that has been viewing my blog.

Thanks for everyone who prayed for Shannon and I last week! There was certainly a lot that went on last week, but thankfully Shannon and I were reunited after a long week – when I was in Chicago and she was in Savannah. All of my traveling went well – and virtually uneventful. The conference went very well. I made several good contacts at Adobe, and I was even able to teach a portion of a class (on something very boring, lol). Please continue to keep us in prayer in the days ahead. Also, if you want to check out a few of my pictures from Adobe Max – you can click here.

As for us – we are doing fine. The bookcases have been a bit slow as I learn that making things “square” is actually important. I will have some updated pictures soon. The conference in Atlanta went very well, and I am prepping for a trip to Chicago at the end of next month.

Shannon is still liking the new job. It really seems to be quite a bit less stressful. Please leave a comment and let us know how things are going for you guys!

On that note, Nala got her stitches (and that funny collar) removed yesterday – and the doctor cleared her for physical activity again. Hopefully now, she will actually sleep at night. I think Shannon is planning on taking her to the lake and trying to wear her out.

Take care everyone.

Well, we had a very very strong line of storms pass though here a few hours ago. However, in a repeat from earlier this week, the power went out. It has been out now for about an hour and a half. The temperature is back up to 81 in the house (which in reality is not that bad – but without any fans, it gets a bit sticky). I am writing this with the battery power I have left on the laptop (although I won’t get to post it until much later). Hope all of you guys are doing well (and have power). Oh, and by the way, the high tomorrow here is 103 – and the heat index is expected to be 120. I guess this is what Brian and Sherrie have to deal with in Texas on a regular basis. I don’t know if I could handle this long term, lol.

UPDATE: It got quite a bit hotter until the power came back on. The power came back on at 2:05am.

Last night was interesting to say the least. First, it got to 101 degrees yesterday. It was incredibly hot all day. So, we both were a bit exhausted from the heat and excited about coming home to our lovely air-conditioned home. We made some dinner, enjoyed some of Shannon’s great banana pudding, and began working on a few items that we each had to complete before work the next day. However, things changed a bit when the power went off around 7:50pm.

Our power goes off on occasion, so we didn’t think much of it. It usually comes back on within the hour. However, at 8:45pm we started to get a bit concerned. I had made the rounds to see if the neighbor’s power was out – and it was. I also had taken care of that little “Christmas light” issue (which I am sure will be discussed in the future) and came back inside to our now increasingly warm house. Finally, we admitted that we needed to go to bed – but the house was now a warm 81 degrees, and it was certainly not a good sleeping temperature. We put Nala to bed (with a little Benadryl to help her craziness that she developed after the surgery), and laid down for the night. We remained without power until 2:30am this morning. I am hoping that tonight will be a bit less eventful.

It amazes me how some perfectly sweet and kind dogs can display another side on occasion that makes you want to strangle them. Such was the case yesterday – while on our way back from Tennessee (btw, we made it back safely). Nala had done so well on the trip yesterday until we stopped a few hours from home. Let me precede this by saying that Nala is always a bit weird about not wanting to pee in strange places – so, on trips it takes a while to convince her to go. We stopped at a gas station in the bustling metropolis of Metter, Georgia. We commenced to walking her for about 20 minutes – and she would not use the bathroom. Finally, we decided that she didn’t need to go (we don’t give her much to drink on trips). As soon as we put her back in the truck – she started to pee (also keep in mind that she peed in the truck on the way to Tennessee also – and that we had a much longer trip to Virginia a few weeks ago – and she did fine).

As if that wasn’t enough – I was awakened at 3am to discover that she had peed in her crate also. Fun Fun.
